I
finally have the 2011
Fishy Four photos posted. This year a few
things are different, first off a digital download is free. If
you can find your photo, go ahead right click and save it to your
computer then post it on Facebook, e-mail it to your friends, etc.
The downloadable photos are too small to get a decent print from,
if you would like a print just let me know and pricing will be
similar to last year, around $15-18.00 depending on the size.
Now for the other changes. I was using a different camera this year,
which was on loan from Canon with their hope I would buy a copy.
Sorry Canon, I just can’t
see the value at $5,000. Well, actually I can see the value just not for my daily
use and the Fishy Four. I was surprised my keeper rate was lower than my personal
camera which was disappointing given the cost and performance. This is part of
the reason I opted for free downloads this year, the other being
the darn bright sun. All-in-all, I was not too happy with this series,
so if you can find yourself and you are not blurry or bathed in bright
sunlight you will probably have a pretty decent photo.
The next change is the gallery. To offer free downloads I had to go back a few
years with regards to technology and go with a clumsy gallery structure. Flash
galleries won’t let you save a photo, clunky galleries will. Now comes
the fun part, how you find your photo. If you finished fast you will be on one
of the first pages, if you finished in the middle of the race start your search
near the middle of the gallery, if you finished towards the end you probably
know where to start looking by now.
Please keep in mind, I am not paid to shoot this event, nor am I profiting from
photo sales. The shoot is what it is and I welcome suggestions for 2012. I have
been asked, why I go through this effort. First off I am a good friend of Tim
Knutson and he invited me to shoot this year. Secondly, I sell generic stock
photos and one shot I took in 2010 has sold well for me. Some of your feet may
be famous and you may see
the photo here. I am always looking for opportunities
to trade photos for access to a facility. If you have a robotic milking parlor,
body shop, auto repair business, grocery store, etc. and want images for your
use feel free to contact me to discuss details.
Good luck with your photo search,
Josh Banks
